Swamp Chic

A bold, graphic tribute to one of Florida’s most iconic creatures, this design puts a stylish spin on the wild character of Florida’s wetlands. Originally hand-painted in gouache on paper, this artwork was digitally adapted, pairing an expressive alligator portrait with an unexpected pink backdrop and earthy, layered textures.  

Jennifer Forrest is an artist whose work is rooted in memories of Florida’s coastal and marine ecosystems. She uses hard-edge painting techniques to create landscapes and wildlife portraits inspired by old family photos, childhood adventures, and the books she used to identify species while diving, snorkeling, and fishing throughout Florida and the Caribbean. Through her art, Jennifer preserves the coastal landscapes and wildlife she remembers and celebrates the diversity of ecosystems she fears are disappearing.
